Our Therapist

Rocio Reyes, LCSW

Therapy is an adventure in which you are the pilot, and I, your co-pilot, and together we can work on creating a unique path to help you rise to your potential.

Beginning on your journey in therapy, whether alone or with your family, can be a daunting experience. As your therapist, it will be my priority to help guide and support you and your goals throughout this journey, one that will be a parallel collaboration of learning and rediscovery. I believe that therapy is a fluid process that can help you and your family not only achieve your goals of working through distress, but also help discover your strengths and insight. Therapy will empower you by giving your experiences and life knowledge a voice and a say in the outcome of your future.

In this journey I will assist in helping you learn new and creative ways to cope with your struggles, explore and process life events that may have been traumatic to you, and improve your relationships all while providing a safe, nurturing and creative therapeutic environment. I believe that the problems we all encounter are influenced not only by our own internal struggles but by the systems and environments we live and interact with. I will not only work with you, your child or your family, but I also incorporate the environment you interact with on a daily basis. I will work closely with your child’s school and community in an effort to provide an all-encompassing approach to treatment.

Approach

In my therapeutic work, I use a trauma-focused, attachment, cognitive and behaviorally informed, solutions-based and family systems approach. Over the last 8+ years, I have gained meaningful experiences throughout my career working primarily with multicultural and diverse children, adolescents and their families and adults in a community mental health setting. In addition to providing therapy in an outpatient setting and in the community, I also have experience working with children, families, and adults in moments of psychiatric crisis. I am bicultural and am also a native speaker of the Spanish language. My areas of interest and expertise include Latinx mental health, specifically working with individuals and families on difficulties associated with immigration, acculturation, intergenerational struggles of understanding bicultural experiences and communication, and culturally defined experiences of distress and mental illness. Additionally, I specialize in working with individuals and families in crisis stabilization treatment. As your co-pilot, I look forward to beginning this journey of growth with you!
